SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND GET READY TO HAVE YOUR ASS BLASTED WITH SOME PURE UNADULTERATED HUMAN JOY BECAUSE IT’S THE NATE MOTHERFUCKING RUESS STARTER KIT.
In case you haven’t heard, this bro is the frontman of Fun. (and The Format before that) and also a professional life-ruiner. His voice is unbelievable (“his range spans from unreachable moments of vivid theatricality to the most raw intensities”) and everything he touches turns to sweet-ass hooks. He’s an adorable human, a beam of Queen-infused sunshine, and also occasionally drunk. Additionally: his dumb face.
You will be a better, happier person for having Nate Ruess in your life. Trust me on this.
SO. I’ve picked out five songs by The Format and eight songs by Fun. that feel ~essential and zipped them. He’s the tracklisting:
1. Some Nights Intro - Fun.
2. Some Nights - Fun.
3. Dog Problems - The Format
4. At Least I’m Not As Sad (As I Used To Be) - Fun.
5. Dead End - The Format
6. All the Pretty Girls - Fun.
7. Be Calm - Fun.
8. One Foot - Fun.
9. Inches and Falling - The Format
10. The Gambler - Fun.
11. Snails - The Format
12. Carry On - Fun.
13. If Work Permits - The FormatIf you decide you want more (which you will, I promise), I’d like to very strongly encourage you to buy all of these LPs. But! Let’s be real, most of us on tumblr are broke-as-fuq students, so here are some download links too. (ftr: I suggest starting with Dog Problems because it’s both pretty much a perfect album and a really good introduction to Nate’s sound )

TYPOGRAPHY RESOURCE & CREDIT POST
One of the most important things I’ve learned from researching typography during my digital art class is this: font design is hard as balls, and if any of those designers saw the way I’ve superimposed their hard work across Batman’s face in a less-than-skilled-manner, they would probably cry. The links in this post should cover all the fonts I’ve used in past graphics and any future graphics.
Just a friendly reminder: graphics are like evolution—sometimes you throw a bunch of cool shit together and get something awesome like a platypus, and other times you get an ugly slimy blind undersea creature that eats poop. Using a good font doesn’t necessarily mean you will get a platypus.
Photoset Fonts:
I. Just—My—Type (Soraya)
II. Lost Type (Oil Can, Tommaso, Ranger, Wisdom Script, Muncie, Pompadour, Deming)
III. The League of Moveable Type (Ostrich Sans, Blackout)
OTHER RESOURCES: Behance Network | Font Squirrel | 1001 Free Fonts
I would also recommend checking my design tag on Delicious for any new fonts I may find in the future.
Dear mother of god
Because some of you anons are persistently asking what fonts I like to use in my works, I’ve kindly compiled them for you. I’m pretty sure there are other people who have compiled their favorite fonts, so my set might be repeats. Reblog/like and enjoy! [More to add in the future]

Aly I am so sorry this took ages to respond to- I would have just given you a list of books and been done with it but I decided to use this and make an actual book rec posts so then this happened. These are books that I think everybody should read. Some of them are obvious and some are from my significant books list, but I just went ahead and put them on here anyways. I tried, for the most part, to get pdf downloads for everything though one or two of them may be epub or word documents instead.I suggest everyone GET ON THESE DOWNLOADS IMMEDIATELY because I don’t know how long they’ll stay up.Miscellaneous Must Reads

Inspired by Tumblr Savior, this script completely removes the notes for any post you don’t want to hear about from your dash!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- Install with the button up top!
- Open the script’s source. Most userscript extensions should have an “edit” or an “open folder” button, and you can edit with any basic text editor like notepad.
- Edit the arrays at the top. Enter the permalink url for any posts, or the username for any person you want to block. You can also whitelist usernames or posts in the second array!
- If it’s not working, double check that nothing in the lists is capitalized, and everything is correctly spelled. Every item should be in quotes, and separated by a comma.
TIP!
You can get the proper permalink to block by copying link location on the “whatever” part of a note that goes “username liked/reblogged your whatever: post title or caption bit…”
mireena taught me this. go give her love! i just wanted to share it with tumblr :)
I see a lot of stuff like this around, so I thought I’d try and gather it into one post, if for nothing else than so that I can find it more easily, later. Because I like free things.
